Tips for selecting the perfect reference photo
Location and Background
For best results and to make your pet stand out, choose a simple background (such as a sandy white beach or a green park) that contrasts to your pets colour.
ie. a darker background for lighter fur and vice versa.
Turn off the flash
Outdoor, natural light will produce the best results. However if indoors, position your pet close to a window or use an off-camera flash and swivel it upwards so the light bounces off of the ceiling.
Using a flash that is facing directly towards your pet will change their eye-colour.
Get down to your pets level
Sit, kneel, lay down – whatever you need to do to get eye to eye with your pet.
Take lots of photos
Take lots of photos and one of them will be bound to be perfect!
